Customized product ranges

Function for controlling visible products and catalogs per customer or customer group.

Customized assortments ensure that business customers only see the products that are relevant to them. In avanta, this function is closely linked to customer-specific prices & conditions and role & rights management. It is essential for e-commerce applications such as customer portals and B2B shop and is part of an integrated B2B e-commerce platform. Technically, this control is supported by avanta's integration logic - see integration and API-First.

Typical functions

  • Customer-specific catalogs and article groups
  • Hiding of irrelevant products
  • Combination with price and role logic
  • ERP-guided assortment management (Glossary: ERP-First)

Customized assortments are part of the modular avanta platform. A complete classification of all functions can be found in the function overview.

Advantages for B2B companies

Reduced complexity for customers, fewer incorrect orders and more efficient purchasing processes - especially for extensive product ranges in the tool trade or standard parts sector.

Differentiation from open catalogs

Open catalogs show all products. avanta only shows what is relevant and approved for the respective customer - consistently across all applications.

Practical example / industries

A company from the tool trade uses customer-specific product ranges in the customer portal so that each customer sees their own product range. Orders in the B2B shop access this exactly - regardless of whether the customer orders via the mobile ordering app or the classic store. The technical basis for this is the integration architecture (see: IT integration). The functions described are based on real B2B commerce projects with avanta - specific implementations can be found in the references.
